Los Angeles Lakers Tickets
The Los Angeles Lakers tickets for the 2012 NBA season will provide an opportunity to see Kobe Bryant. At this time, that is the only thing that is clear to those who crave seats at the Staples Center to see one of the best basketball franchises in the league. It appeared, at one time, the Lakers would also have Chris Paul, but Daniel Stern vetoed the trade for "basketball related reasons". The trade would have sent Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom elsewhere as well. So, instead of the best backcourt in the NBA, the Lakers remain one of the most dangerous teams in the league. The league's decision is causing uproar throughout every facet of the league. Some owners are disgusted the NBA would dictate the competitive level of each team, other owners are happy the veto stopped a perceived favoritism toward bigger markets, E! is happy they do not have to create a new Kardashian spinoff, and the New Orleans Hornets fans are stuck feeling sorry for themselves as they only have 66 games left before CP3 leaves via free agency. The backup plan would be the pursuit of Dwight Howard, but he has expressed a desire to play in Brooklyn, via New Jersey for the 2012 season. Instead, Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak will be in search for a point guard and some three point shooting. It has become painfully obvious that Derrick Fisher cannot guard the bevy of quick point guards who are currently en vogue. Also, new coach Mike Brown seems set on moving away from the Triangle offense, making Fisher a liability at the offensive end as well. Early predictions have Brown favorite Delonte West coming to Los Angeles. The Lakers would have a shooter and a defensive presence, as well as a player who can at least bring the basketball up the court. They will be freeing up some funds by using the amnesty clause on Luke Walton.

Los Angeles Lakers History
|
The Los Angeles Lakers began as the Minneapolis Lakers back in 1947 and stayed for 13 more seasons with professional basketball's first superstar, George Mikan. Mikan towered over the competition at 6-foot-10 and the Lakers brought home six championship before moving to Los Angeles in 1961. These would be of 17 championships and established the franchise as the destination for the NBA's most dominant big men. Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, and Shaquille O'Neal have each been a part of NBA championship teams. Of course, the most famous Los Angeles Lakers teams in franchise history are the Showtime Lakers of the 1980s. Magic Johnson manned the point and dished the ball off to James Worthy, Kareem, and Byron Scott. Those 1980s Showtime Lakers won five championships, proving to be the most dominant team in the league that decade. The 1990s were a difficult period for the franchise, but the club, under Jerry West's guidance built a winner by drafting Kobe Bryant and signing free agent Shaq. Phil Jackson took over as head coach and the Lakers won three consecutive NBA Finals from 2000 to 2002. Jackson was able to keep the peace for five seasons, but the 2004 Finals loss to the Detroit Pistons signaled the end of an era. West traded Shaq and Los Angeles began its search for the right stars to add to the mix. Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom joined Kobe and returned to the finals in 2009 and 2010. The Lakers defeated the Magic and then the Celtics and gave the franchise another minor dynasty. OnlineSeats has the Los Angeles Lakers tickets to catch the new season schedule at the Staples Center.
