Once again, the quick combo of Holiday and Williams may not be enough to cover Rajon Rondo, but they will be more than enough to force him to expend multitudes of energy on the opposite end. The Sixers will once again be the underdog in the second round, but they have proven the rotation's work ethic is enough to be at least last in a seven-game series, if not come away surprise winners. Philly has terrific perimeter defense and has a power forward, Elton Brand, in his waning years who still has the ability to grab offensive rebounds. The Wells Fargo Center is going to be full of basketball fans cheering this group on.

 The Philadelphia 76ers have a long storied history in the tomes of professional basketball. This team was there at the beginning of the NBA, having played in the National Basketball League in the six years previous. As a franchise, the Sixers have three championships to their credit, all since playing as an NBA team. That first championship came as the Syracuse Nationals. Then, the team featured the impressive play of forward Dolph Schayes. Schayes had been the focus of the 76ers since 1948 and finally earned the ultimate prize, an NBA title in 1955. Those basketball tickets were cheap by comparison to today's, especially once Wilt Chamberlain arrived. Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham, Hal Greer, Chet Walker, Lucious Jackson, and Wali jones finished the 1966-67 season with a then NBA record 68-13 record. They then steamrolled the competition in the NBA playoffs, taking out the Cincinnati Royals 3-1 in the division semifinals, beating the Boston Celtics 4-1 in the division finals, and ultimately defeating the San Francisco Warriors 4-2 in the NBA Finals. There would be plenty of Sixers regular season schedules before the city would once again celebrate a championship. The 1982-1983 76ers featured a familiar face on the bench, Billy Cunningham. The "Fo-Fi-Fo" Sixers starred Moses Malone, Julius Erving, Maurice Cheeks, Andrew Toney, and Bobby Jones. They went 65-17, taking the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference. They entered the playoffs in a decade dominated by the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers. Philly tore the New York Knicks to shreds with a sweep in the Conference Semifinals, took out the Milwaukee Bucks in five games in the Conference Finals, and decimated the Los Angeles Lakers with four straight wins in the NBA Finals.
