He is an all-around player who has been favorable compared to Bill Russell. This means he is supposed to be a defensive force with the temperament and basketball IQ to turn a talented roster into a winner. He would allow Bargnani to focus solely on his offense and compete for the scoring lead. If this were a deep point guard draft, then the Raptors would be looking to replace Jose Calderon. Luckily, Toronto is set with DeMar DeRozan at shooting guard. Aaron Gray and Linas Kleize are good placeholders, but are not the answer. Something has to be done to improve the scoring output because a team this soft on defense should not be allowing 91.9 points a game. It is unlikely any coach is going to turn this roster around and rebuild it as a top tier defense.
