The Green Bay Packers 2012 NFL postseason begins on January 15, 2012 when Green Bay Packers tickets are available for the NFC Divisional Playoff with the New York Giants. This defense finally has all its key defensive players back, and they were able to hold Matt Ryan to 199 yards even though he threw the football 41 times. Green Bay's offensive line has been on the mends all season long and now they have to contend with Justin Tuck and Jason Pierre-Paul.

The Packers running game is split between James Starks and Ryan Grant and they provide just enough of a threat to force the defense to give the backfield some respect. Yet, Aaron Rodgers is far more likely to run one in than either of these backs, who have three touchdowns combined to Rodgers three total touchdowns.

Rodgers favorite receiving targets are Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, and Jermichael Finley, though three more receivers had more than 25 receptions. Nelson is an enigma and leads the team with 69 receptions, 1,263 yards, and 15 touchdowns. Jennings plays more of a possession role. This should remain unchanged in the playoff game with the Giants. Tight end Finley may see his opportunities to catch a pass dramatically reduced as he is likely going to be asked to stay home and help out blocking Tuck and Pierre-Paul.

As much as the discussion is dominated by the offense when bragging about Packers playoff tickets, it should be mentioned that the defense is not a top-notch unit. They are nearly in the bottom third of the league in terms of scoring defense, as they allow 22.4 points a game. They are poor against the pass and just alright against the run. They do excel at forcing turnovers though.
