Houston Texans 2012 Playoffs

The Houston Texans began the NFL season hoping to do little more than squeak into the postseason as an NFL Wild Card. The AFC South had been the Indianapolis Colts for as long the fans could remember, so to believe Matt Schaub, Arian Foster, and an improving defense could do anything more seemed unreasonable. Then it was announced that Peyton Manning would miss far more than just a few games and there became a new hope at Reliant Stadium. Houston Texans playoff tickets became a very real possibility.
It certainly helped the Houston Texans that their defense dominated against the pass and the run and can create turnovers. The Texans allow 17.4 points, so even without the help of Matt Schaub Houston has a chance in just about every game, regular and postseason. Luckily, Arian Foster and Ben Tate are two feature backs platooning to the tune of 153 yards a game.
Foster is also an important cog of the passing game, as are tight end Owen Daniels and wide receiver Andre Johnson. Johnson is finally healthy and this should give Quarterback T.J. Yates at least someone to target downfield. The Texans may be the team visiting M&T Bank Stadium on January 15, 2012 to play the Ravens, a defensive team but a meager offensive threat.
Houston Texans Postseason History
Houston Texans Background
To say that 2012 is a banner year for the Houston Texans is an understatement. The franchise has been struggling to get out of the basement of the AFC South. In recent seasons the defense has been increasingly stout against the run but has failed to do much to stop the pass. They imported cornerbacks Jason Allen and Johnathan Joseph and safety Daniel Manning and have transformed the Texans pass defense into one of the best in the NFL.
In the seasons previous to this 10-6 year the Houston Texans have only managed to produce one season with a record above 8-8. Coach Gary Kubiak has managed to touch at 8-8 twice and 9-7 once, but had been blocked from the playoffs by stiff competition in the AFC.
The OnlineSeats have the Houston Texans tickets to see this team as they play in their first NFL postseason. They have already beaten the Cincinnati Bengals and are one win away from landing in the AFC Championship game.
