Head Coach Brent said he has enjoyed coaching the team this year and called them a resilient group. This has appeared to be a true statement. At the beginning of the season the Flames sat in fourth place in the Northwest Division and since the all-star break they have played hard and captured second place. Some say Calgary is not the most talented team in the league but if they keep playing good team hockey it may not be a big deal. Jerome Iginla leads the Flames offensively in both goals and assists. Iginla still remains to be one of the best offensive players in the game. Goal tenders Miikka Kiprusoff and Henrik Karlsson haven't had the most impressive seasons but they have done more than enough to keep the Flames alive and eligible for the 2011 playoffs. Right now the Flames have as good of a chance as any other in the NHL to secure one of the last playoff spots in the Western Conference.
