The 2010-2011 Carolina Hurricanes were in the thick of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference until the very end of the season. They were hot down the stretch finishing with a 7-2-1 record but wound up two points short of qualifying fans for Carolina Hurricanes tickets for the postseason. In a small sampling, backup goalie, Justin Peters was 3-5-1 with a 3.98 goals against average, which just won't cut it in the NHL. The current ‘Canes' defenders will have to get better in a hurry otherwise a roster upheaval may be in order to help out.

The ‘Canes play well once they are in the playoffs. It's getting there that's been the hard part. In their five trips to the playoffs, they have lost in the first round twice, the conference finals once, the Stanley Cup Final once, and have won a Stanley Cup. If the ‘Canes are to turn it around and get fans back to the playoffs with Carolina Hurricanes tickets, the continued excellence of Staal and Cole will be much needed as well as somebody or anybody to play defense at the blue line.
