The first problem is that Mitchell replaced Sean O'Donnel but due to injury the Kings have taken a step backwards at this position. In order for the Kings to continue to get better they need another veteran to come in and keep the defense steady during those critical situations. This missing piece will keep 3-0 leads from becoming 3-3 ties late in games. This will also help the Kings win more games by a one goal deficit. Goalie Jonathan Quick has been a big asset to the Kings weak defense. So far he has only allowed two goals a game and has a save percentage of .924 percent .Without his stout defense in the net the Kings would be in much worse shape. Offensively the Kings are not struggling near as bad. Justin Williams leads the Kings and so far has scored over 20 goals on the season. Trailing close behind is Ryan Smith who has found the back of the net over 20 times as well. Center Anze Kopitar and defensemen Jack Johnson lead the Kings in assists. Together the duo has accumulated over 70 assists on the season. The 2010-2011 NHL season has just started to get interesting. Los Angeles Kings fans know they have as good a chance as anyone in the Pacific Division for a shot at the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
