Pat Mccurdy
With the regular tours to United States, Pat Mccurdy has created his fan following all over. Ticket for his shows at Wisconsin, Minneapolis and in Chicago are always booked beforehand. Pat Mccurdy has gained expertise in cabaret songwriting and singing, to captivate the audiences attention. With his songs, he tries to touch the emotions like lost love, family vacation, joys of Asian Cuisine and even politics. With such emotions he had successfully performed on-stage for more than 300 shows per year. He also created some humorous compositions related to the mundane issue of daily cycle that include waking up, working hard, getting drunk and then again sleeping.... Though, his music carry a cabaret style but his genre is always trailing either in rock/pop, folk, jazz or country. Whatever be his style, his lyrics are mostly memorable.
The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan influenced the young Pat Mccurdy, that led him to learn guitar all by himself. He took part in many high school bands and later in the year 1978, moved on to front Yipes. The band Yipes, is well known as New Wave band or power pop, where Pat grew as a musician. In 1978, the band along with Pat achieved a moderate success after they began singing under RCA/Millennium. Pat Mccurdy continued to front in few bands until 1980, including the Men About Town, The Confidentials and Mankind.
Pat Mccurdy celebrated minor success fronting for these bands, but with the end of 80s he took a tentative step to act solo. The search for his real niche began with performing at small bars among sparse listeners. He involved the participation from his audiences, as he sang a single line and left the other for audiences to cue. His style invoked call-and-response technique in the show.
The artist invited huge crowd for his show, implying on the call-and-response technique. Fans get attracted to this very style of Pat Mccurdy and then buy tickets for his shows.
