Pixies tickets first sold way back in 1986 a few years after Joey Santiago and Black Francis had met at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The two jammed and worked together. In January 1986 Santiago and Francis added Kim Deal and David Lovering. The lineup was set from then on, Black played rhythm guitar and sang vocals, Santiago played lead guitar, Deal played bass and sang, and Lovering played drums. The Pixies developed a sound that married surf rock and punk rock, an unlikely union that delivered the heart thumping energy of punk with the yowling, lingering vocals of a night by the surf. The sound would make the band stars underground. From 1986 to 1993, the Pixies released five albums and EPs – Come On Pilgrim (1987), Surfer Rosa (1988), Doolittle (1989), Bossanova (1990), and Trompe le Monde (1991). Surfer Rosa introduced the Pixies to the world, going Gold, and Doolittle went platinum, the band's only album to sell so well in the United States. Pixies tickets would sell for countless tours, as the band had become a major album sales success. The constant pressure of performing concert and the creative rift growing between Francis and Deal forced a hiatus following the tour schedule for Doolittle. In 1990 three quarters of the band (sans Deal) moved to Los Angeles to be closer to the record company. Despite the tension, the Pixies recorded two more albums, which found a place in the hearts of alternative rock fans in the UK, and sold Pixies concert tickets for the a couple more years before finally breaking up via fax in 1993. OnlineSeats has the Pixies tickets to see the band reunited and on the road to relieve the album Doolittle night in and night out.
