Point of Grace tickets have been selling since the ladies first stepped out onto the stage in 1991 as a quartet. Now, Point of Grace has shrunken to a trio, consisting of Shelley Brown, Denise Jones, and Leigh Cappillino. The group tours the country playing music wavering between Christian contemporary and country. These concerts and tours draw out their many fans throughout the land.
The then-quartet began at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Denise Masters, Terry Lang, and Heater Floyd, three of the original members, knew each other from their time in Norman, Oklahoma. The fourth member of the group, Shelley Phillips joined when she began to attend Ouachita Baptist University on a vocal scholarship. These four college girls began as an idea in a dorm room that blossomed with a little help from some self-promotion. They finally garnered some consideration from a major label after blowing away the audience and judges at the Music in the Rockies Christian Artist Seminar in 1992.
Signed to a label with World Records, Point of Grace released its first album in 1993. The self-titled affair went gold, impressive for a Christian contemporary album. The Whole Truth (1995) would match the certification, but the band had one more echelon to reach, platinum. Life Love & Other Mysteries (1996) topped the Christian album charts and went platinum. Steady On (1998) replicated the success.
