If you want to see Nine Inch Nails on tour you better hurry because after they complete there tour dates in 2009 that will be it for now. At this point the band has stated that they will be taking an indefinite hiatus from touring. They have been touring for a long time and they are ready for a break. The band, which is known for outrageous tour productions have also stated that they are going to be scaling back all that craziness as well in their upcoming performances. This last tour they have been on, “Lights in the Sky”, has literally been just that. The show has included an amazing interactive light show, and the band has been able to do very innovative things with the lights like shining them on these huge screens that just go across the whole stage. It is really something to be seen, but with the scaling back all that will probably be affected.
In addition to these changes the band had also been working on a new 3D concert film but it just hasn’t been working out. There have been problems with funding and song rights and at this point it is just too rushed to meet the deadlines for production and the whole project has been scraped. It’s a shame; I bet it would have been awesome.
Now on a more upbeat note, Nine Inch Nail is having a bit of fun with the Apples I phone game called Tap Tap Revenge. This game is huge for I phone users and has over 3 million users playing it already. Basically you just tap and shake your I phone along to the beat of a song. Well now, Nine Inch Nails is going to put together some new music that will be the soundtrack that plays on this game. How cool is that? We are at a time where everyone, including musicians, needs to come up with new and innovative ways to promote their products and this is one of those new ways.
