Black Eyes Peas - Planning their new tour

The Black Eyed Peas are going to be hitting the road again in 2009. Finally! The Peas have not toured together in the states since their Honda Civic Tour in 2006. The group plans to start touring again sometime in May or June of 2009 just in time to promote their new album “The Energy Never Dies” that is due out in March.  The best news of all is that Fergie will be back to join the group on tour. She actually was only supposed to be a guest singer with the group on “The Elephunk” album but she hit it off so well with the band that they asked her to become a permanent member of the band. Fergie, who is one of my all time favorite performers, has done a great job on her own as well. Her solo album “Dutchess”, which she released in 2006, went triple platinum, and hit #2 on the Billboard 200 chart. She is also engaged to the very handsome, Josh Duhamel. Fergie is very excited to get back on the road with the band and said “our show needs to be f*ckin ridiculous this time. We need to put together a monster show”. Fans will be thrilled about that.

The new album is going to be a bit different, since times are changing in the music industry. It is going to be more of a music dairy – meaning it can be added to at any time. There is definitely tension and frustration in the music work with all the downloading of songs and not as big of a need for your old fashioned album any more. Will.i.am , who is the bands group leader, feels that now a days people can just go to ITunes and pick and choose the songs that they want so why go out there and just put our your typical 12 song album. Now don’t get me wrong, “The Energy Never Dies” will have it’s 12 tracks on it but it will also be able to be added to by adding songs on line, through blogs etc. so the album as also been named “THE END”, to show that really it will not be ending but will continue to change and be updated throughout its life. Pretty cool concept!

Will.i.am has been quite busy lately. He co-scored the soundtrack to “Madagascar 2” and wrote Obama’s victory song “IT’S a New Day”.  He has also been busy producing and working on different material for artists such as Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson.

So get ready for The Black Eyed Peas because we are going to be hearing a lot about them in 2009, I am sure.
