While what I am about to write about is neither sports nor pure entertainment news I am compelled to write about it and add my 2 cents. This is truly a disturbing story…Drew Peterson is engaged! This is so outrageous I cannot even get over it for some many reasons. First of all let’s keep in mind that Drew Peterson has been married 4 times already and 50% of his wives have gone missing or murdered. Not great odds for his next potential wife. In addition to that, legally Peterson is still married to his 4th wife, Stacy, who has been missing since October 2007. He is also a suspect in her disappearance. His newest fiancé is 23 years old, the same age Stacy was when she went missing, and he is 54 years old.
Now I completely understand that 23 year olds can be naïve and fall in love with the notion of marriage and perhaps the ideal of security, and even the fact of falling in love with the “father figure” type, but has she ever turned on the TV or read the newspapers. How in the world can she spend one second with this guy? He is a lot smarter then we think if he can keep getting these young women to fall for him and take that big plunge into marriage with him. Has she considered that fact that hey…he has been married 4 times already and that is a potential red flag in and of itself??.
Although Drew Peterson himself has not revealed his finances name in order to keep her out of the public eye, a man claiming to be her father has come forward. His name is Ernie Raines, and as you might imagine he wants his daughter to give back the ring and get away from Drew Peterson as quickly as possible. He even went to Peterson’s house to let him know that basically he is watching him and he better not let anything happen to his daughter. Can you even imagine what that father is feeling right now? He told the Chicago Sun Times that his daughter met Peterson about a year ago at a Laundromat and that Peterson has given her roses and taken her to see “Blue Man Group”, and has even promised to buy her a car. Wow that explains why she is going to marry him – what a swell guy, huh? This girl’s family and friends need to do an intervention and talk some sense into her before it is too late. Hopefully she will wise up and find herself a new guy, one who isn’t a suspect in his wife’s disappearance.
