Lady Antebellum having a great year!

Is it me or does it seem like the group Lady Antebellum have come out of nowhere? I have to admit that I have seen the name here and there but really didn’t have much of a clue until I saw them perform on the Today show on Christmas Eve. They were really quite good. They sang two songs, the holiday favorite “Baby Its Cold Outside” and “Love Don’t Live Here” which has been nominated for a Grammy. There are three people in the band, Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott. Their performance was basically vocals and guitar, and they did a great job. I think no one is more surprised and excited by the great year they have had then themselves. The 3 of them seemed to be quite star struck and pretty much in shock that they were sitting there chatting it up with Matt Lauer and Anne Curry.
Although the group has made it big in the country scene they say that wasn’t necessarily what they set out to do it just happened that way, and doesn’t necessarily mean they will stay county. They write what they feel. They have won several awards this year including the Academy of County Music’s top New Duo or Group in 2008 and also New Artist of the Year from the Country Music Association. It was also just announced they have been nominated for a Grammy for Best New Artist and their single “Love Don’t Live Here” just received a Grammy nomination for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group, as well. If you have not heard them sing they are all over U-Tube and you can see for yourself why this group is getting so much buzz.
There is love in the air this holiday season because Charles Kelley became engage to his girlfriend of two years on Chrsitmas morning, so congratulations to them. An interesting little tidbit is that Charles Kelley is the brother of singer Josh Kelley, who is married to Katherine Heigl, from the TV show, Grey’s Anatomy.
If you want to see Lady Antebellum in concert you are in for a treat because they will be touring with Keith Urban later this year.
