Tragedy for the Travolta Family

I hate to start the New Year off with sad news but this has been on my mind since I heard about it earlier today. John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s 16 year old son, Jett, died today.
The family was on vacation in the Bahamas where they have a home, celebrating the New Year together. It seems that Jett had a seizure while in the bathtub, fell and hit his head. I cannot even imagine what this family is going through right now and I am just so sad for them. The couple also has an 8 year old daughter, Ella Bleu.
The family had come out years ago saying that Jett had been diagnosed with Kawasaki syndrome or KS and this can lead to convulsions or seizures. There seems to be a link between KS and high exposure to carpet cleaning chemicals. Kelly said in an interview with Montel Williams back in 2002 that basically her son was really sick and that his immune system would just shut down and he would have these high fevers that got up to 104 and 105. Kelly said she kept taking him to the doctor but no one really knew what was wrong with him. Finally a doctor at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles diagnosed Jett with this rare disease. Kelly did say that she was very particular about cleaning her carpets and did have it done often. Jett also suffered from asthma and allergies. Once she learned about the diagnosis, Kelly totally cleaned out their house of chemicals, and even changed the way the family ate, by going organic. This has been a top priority for Kelly, keeping her son/ family healthy.
An autopsy is planned to find out the actual cause of death but whatever it is won’t change the fact that this is a terribly sad time for the family and undoubtedly their worst day ever.
