Chastity Bono, Cher’s lesbian daughter, is going to undergo a sex change operation!! This is a huge decision and not one that Chastity has taken lightly, it has something she has wanted to do for years and she has her mother’s support. She actually started the process back in March when she turned 40. One of the first changes is the name change; Chastity now goes by the name Chaz. He says that “He is proud of his decision and grateful for the support and respect that has already been shown by his loved ones. It is Chaz’s hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his coming out did nearly 20 years ago.” That has to be one of the most courageous things for someone to do in order to be true to one’s self. I for one wish Chaz the best of luck and that this transition will bring him the peace and happiness he is looking for.

The Palin /Letterman fight continues with Palin this morning on the “Today Show” saying that Dave does not owe her an apology for the joke against her daughter, but rather to young women all across the world. Dave in turn has admitted that a joke referring to rape and a 14 year old would be in poor taste but it seems that the Letterman people may have had their facts wrong. Dave thought he was referring to Palin’s 18 year old daughter Bristol being at the Yankees game, but it seems that Palin’s 14 year old was the one at the game and perhaps how this whole mishap started. Dave does go on to say that, “I’m not necessarily proud of these jokes. We do stuff all the time and our objective here is to get a laugh and thank God we don’t have to go to The Hague and the World Court to defend them. It’s a joke and that’s all it’s supposed to be.” We do as a society have a hard time letting things go. I wonder how long Sarah Palin is going to be talking about this one. She is only fueling the fire by continuing to talk about it. Dave may have stepped over the line, but let it go and move on!!!

Here are just a few gossip tidbits. Firstly the autopsy findings on the death of actor David Carradine reveal it was not suicide as originally suspected.  At this time investigators still need more time to determine the actual cause of death, but this is becoming quite interesting. I mean he was found hanging inside a closet, so what really happened to the star? For some reason people just cannot get enough of Heidi Montag and now you will be able to get a lot more of her. The “celebrity” has posed for “Playboy Magazine” and will be in the September issue. You will be able to see Heidi naked! I am sure that is very exciting new for some.

Aerosmith is trying to stay young and hip and are reaching out to their youngest fans. The group which just stared their summer tour has also teamed up with “Guitar Hero”. Some of the best “Guitar Hero” playing kids will get the chance to rock with the guys on stage and even be able to “open for the band” by playing “Guitar Hero” in front of the crowd. How cool will that be for some lucky winners. A kids (or even adults) dream come true. ZZ Top is the official opening band for the tour but the guys just want to have fun and let the kids have fun too. They are always surprised at the kids who come up to them and ask them about songs form 20 and 30 years ago. Steven Tyler and the guys are going back in the studio to work on their 15th album.
