Justin Bieber: Just A Boy Being a Boy

So, Justin Bieber is getting in trouble for throwing water balloons and flirting with older girls at photo shoots. Basically, he is getting in trouble for being 16, prompting some of the tween fans’ moms to suggest he might be tarnishing his reputation.

Really, wouldn’t you be glad he is not dabbling in drug muling like Paris Hilton or fathering children, or keeping the contents of rubbers to water? For all the talk about kids growing up too fast and celebrity teens hitting the clubs too early, isn’t it nice to see a teen celeb who is acting like an irrational high school sophomore. He is also, by the way, playing free concerts in addition to raking in millions through the sale of Justin Bieber tickets, so how bad is this boy?

Instead his juvenile antics lead to headlines like “Justin Bieber Avoids Water Baloon-Related Arrest” by the Washington Post. Is there no compromise between bad girl behavior leading to stints in rehab and a family band wearing purity rings?

These tweens and slightly older teens most definitely know about the exploits of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and the up-and-down personal life of Britney Spears. It is just so interesting that once this boy acts like a boy, people are upset he is not the angel star tween girls mothers want him to be.

Besides, it has already been reported numerous times that he openly flirts with starlets and starlets to be (the most recent case is Chanel Dudley). Most often these girls seem to laugh it off as harmless, and that is probably damaging enough to his psyche. Heck, his mom still talks about his virginity.

If this bad boy is too bad for a parent’s comfort level, perhaps it is time they ask themselves what decade it is now. Remember, just as it is a good thing to promote girl power, it is ok for boys just to boys.
