Ralphs World
It seems that the prayers of parents around the country have finally been answered. Ralph's World is a messiah for parents trying hard to banish bad music. Ralph's World is actually an outfit of musician Ralph Covert, he is a musician who loves making music for kids. He is also the leader of the band The Bad Examples, who were fairly successful in the early-'90s. Ralph still performs at the SRO Rock 'n' Roll club shows in his home town of Chicago. According to Ralph he is proud of whatever he does, according to Ralph it is the process that counts most. He proudly says, "When I went into this I said, 'I'm not going to make a kids' record. I wanted to make a great record kids will love."
Ralph was nominated for a Grammy Award in years in the category of Best Musical Album For Children. He has become a one-man musical universe who provides some great family music for more than 100,000 families across the country. He has released six albums on the independent label Mini Fresh. His latest album is titled 'Green Gorilla, Monster & Me.'

Artist Biography - Ralphs World

 Ralph was a talented youngster, he became a songwriter when he was eight years old. As a kid he felt he never thought that he would end up making music for kids. According to him, "I always had a vivid imagination," but "I grew up listening to the Beatles, like a million other kids. When I first started playing guitar in high school, my dad gave me money to go to the store and buy an instruction book,"
Before all the fame and accolades, Ralph was teaching a songwriting course at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music. This is when the Mini Fresh label approached him to make a record. Ralph took the offer and as they say the rest is history. Ralph's World gave American families a dose of what was to come and also music that they could share with their children.
Ralph recognizes that musicians are "a bunch of big kids anyway," and so he doesn't find it difficult to compose the kind of material he comes up with. A lot of his professional friends and associates partner with him on his albums, notable among them are bassist Pickles Piekarski (Bad Examples, John Prine), harmonica player Corky Siegel (Siegel-Schwall Blues Band), electric guitarist Steve Gerlach (Tommy Keene, Bad Examples), and drummer Matt Walker (Smashing Pumpkins, Filter).
