The newest album, his fourth solo album, debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200 and appeared well on its way to at least Gold certification status by the RIAA. Raphael Saadiq tickets have sold since the singer R&B, soul, and neo soul singer performed as part of the acclaimed soul group Tony! Toni! Tone! Born May 14, 1966 as the second youngest of 14 in Oakland, California, he began performing live at the age of 9 in the local gospel group. Three years later he began performing with his first group, the Gospel Humminbirds. All these were amateur experiences though, and amateur experiences performing with his given name, Charles Wiggins. In 1984 he tried out for bass for Sheila E's backing band. He adopted the first name Raphael because he had trouble responding to Charles and was whisked away for two years playing on Prince's Parade Tour.

Raphael Saadiq tickets finally began to sell professionally to see him specifically when he joined Tony! Toni! Tone! as the lead singer. He sang with his brother Dwayne and this cousin Timothy Christian. Raphael had been performing as Raphael Wiggins to this point, but changed his name again to stand out. This time he became Raphael Saadiq. Saadiq is Arabic for "man of his word". The group released four albums before disbanding, including three that went at least platinum.
