 Apart from acting, he was interested in singing too. He started his recording career with Columbia Records and released 15 more albums. He began to work in films from 1962, where he was asked to provide voice to one of the characters in the animated feature Gay Purr-ee opposite Judy Garland. It was his cameo appearance as a singer in Louis Malle's Atlantic City, that bought him much praise and was also critically acclaimed. In 1981, he recorded under Applause Records, the song Atlantic City. After that there was no looking back.
