Rockville is a CDP (census-designated place) and a village in Vernon town in the state of Connecticut. The CDP lies in the Tolland County. According to the 2000 census, the population of the CDP stands at 7,708.

As per the United States Census Bureau, the CDP covers a total area of 4.6 km², of which 98.30% is land. The CDP got its name from the term 'Rockville', a common expression used in the neighboring areas, which means 'going to the rocks'.

The 'Rockville Historic District', an area within this CDP, features in the 'National Register of Historical Places'. This district extends over an area of 5,500 acres and comprises of 842 buildings and 1 structure. Many of the buildings in this district showcase some exquisite Victorian architectural styles. Some of the popular buildings are the 'Castle Sunset', 'the tower on Fox Hill' and the 'Maple Street School'.
