Rush Tour
|
OnlineSeats will have Rush tickets to see progressive rock band from the north for every tour they schedule. Rush originally formed in 1968 in Toronto in the Willowdale neighborhood. The three current members were joined by Jeff Jones, then the front man, and John Rutsey, who Neil Peart eventually replaced. Rush as fans have known the band have been playing together since 1974. The three mainstays have been able to remain relevant, even at the forefront, changing its musical style.
Rush began as a band heavily influenced by British blues rock groups like Led Zeppelin and Cream. The group began to veer toward hard rock through the first few albums, but eventually adopted a sound closer to the British progressive rock movement (The Who and, again, Led Zeppelin). The band's songs became elongated and the lyrics became more fantastical. Throughout the 1970s they remained a hard rock group at heart though.
The 1980s brought about another change, as Rush experimented with the New Wave, reggae, and pop rock sounds prevalent in popular music. Fans note this period for the synthesizers and sequencers. Rush embraced the music of the ‘90s, aligning their harder sound with the dominant alternative rock sound early in the decade. As the hard rock bands from the 1970s have been coming out of retirement to tour, Rush has returned to the hard rock edge that made the band so popular in the beginning.
OnlineSeats will have the Rush tickets as the group takes to the road for the Time Machine Tour in 2010 and 2011. Find great seats for terrific prices and enjoy one of the most influential groups in concert.
