The city of Santa Barbara is located in the state of California, United States. Santa Barbara falls in the county of 'Santa Barbara' and is also the county-seat of the same. It is known by its popular nicknames, 'California's South Coast' and 'American Riviera'. According to the 2000 census, the population of the city stands at 92,325.

Santa Barbara is situated between the steeply rising Santa Ynez Mountains and the sea, and is famous for its Mediterranean climate.
