Sarah Bareilles
Sarah Bareilles has been singing since she was in school. The American singer/songwriter, born in 1979, grew up in Eureka, California where she won the acclaim those who saw the local choir, musicals, and talent contests. Her time at UCLA had similar moments as she won the school wide talent show twice and sang in Awaken A Cappella. She seemed destined to one day sell concert tickets and albums nationally.
Her break had to wait while she played in bars and open mics around Los Angeles. It was after she released her first independent album, Careful Confessions, that she was able to get the attention of the major music labels. The release led to her signing with Epic Records in 2005 and reworking her songs for a new album for the rest of the year. She finally made a strong national breakthrough with her first major label studio album, Little Voice, thanks to the strong appeal of her double platinum single Love Story. She would not headline Sarah Barielles tickets, but she would open for a number of acts, including Counting Crows, Maroon 5, Aqualung, and many others.

 Since her debut she has released her first live album, Between the Lines, and has been nominated for four awards (two 2008 Billboard and two 2009 Grammy Awards) for her single Love Sing. Sarah Bareilles sound is infectious with its strong ballads that bleed sincerity and her mezzo-soprano voice.
