The city of Schertz is located in the state of Texas, United States. Schertz falls in the three counties of Bexar, Comal and Guadalupe. As per the 2000 Census, the population of the city is approximated at 18,694. However, as per 2007 estimates, the population of the city has grown up to 42,000.

Schertz is a part of the 'San Antonio Metropolitan Area' and is considered a beautiful place to live in. As per a survey by CNNMoney.com in the year 2007, the city was ranked as one of the best places to live in the United States. In fact, the city came was in peak position in the state of Texas. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of 24.7 square miles, of which 100% is land.

The city is the largest one in the area of Randolph Metrocom, which include many cities and towns around the Randolph Air Force Base. The city is a popular tourist place and features many attractions. The city is also popular for hosting a number of events and festivals, such as the '4th of July Jubilee and Parade' and the 'Steve Simonson Foundation Party'. Whereas the former features rides, musical entertainment, fun and crafts venues, the latter, held in the month of September, showcases some big performances.

Schertz also features many events during the winter season, such as the 'Festival of Angels' held in December. Over the years, a number of movies have been shot in this picturesque city, such as the 'Cevallos Brothers' and the film, 'Avenue of the Strongest: A September 11th Memorial Exhibit'.
