The town of Secaucus is located in the state of New Jersey, United States. Secaucus falls in the Hudson County and according to the 2000 United States Census, the population of the town stands at 15,931.

Historically, the town of Secaucus has been home to many pig farms, rendering plants and junk yard. Over the years, its reputation has changed from being a commuter town to that of a suburban town. As per the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 6.5 square miles, of which 90.34% is land. Recently, Secaucus was named the 11th best place to live in the state of New Jersey.

The famous Snake Hill, located at the southern end of the town, is a prominent feature of the town and is also a major attraction amongst tourists. The city is also famous for having several large retail areas, such as 'Secaucus Plaza', the many factory retail outlets scattered throughout the Harmon Cove industrial section and the Mill Creek Mall.

Secaucus also has a very prominent sporting culture. The famed soccer team 'Secaucus FC' is based in this town. The town was also the headquarter of the Major League Lacrosse for the first four seasons of the league. Many sporting venues are located near the town of Secaucus, such as the 'Giants Stadium', the 'Meadowlands Racetrack', the 'Izod Center', the 'Prudential Center' in Newark, the 'Yankee Stadium' and the 'Shea Stadium'.
