The city of Sedona is located in the state of Arizona, United States. Sedona lies in the two counties of Coconino and Yavapai. As per 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city stands at 11,220.

Sedona falls in the northern Verde Valley region of the state of Arizona and is famous for its mild winters and hot summers. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of 18.6 square miles, of which 100% is land.

The city of Sedona is an important tourist place and features many attractions, such as the beautiful and picturesque array of red sandstone formations known as the Red Rocks of Sedona. These rocks are said to glow in orange and red color during sun-sets and sunrises and are considered popular hiking spots. They are also the site of many spiritual pursuits.

Sedona is popular for hosting several famous festivals, such as 'GumptionFest', the 'Sedona International Film Festival', the 'Sedona Marathon' and the 'Sedona Jazz on the Rocks Festival'. Sedona has an active cultural tradition and is home to several reputed arts organization, such as the 'Sedona Arts Center', the 'Chamber Music Sedona' and the 'NORAZ Poets'. The Sedona Arts Center was found in the year 1958 and is the oldest arts center in the northern portion of the state of Arizona. Chamber Music Sedona also sponsors an annual chamber music program in the city. A popular performance venue in the city is the 'Harkins Theater.
