Shontelle Layne is the R&B and hip hop performer who goes simply by Shontelle. Born on October 4, 1985 in Barbados, this singer/songwriter emerged as an up-and-coming artist at the age of 22, under the SRC Records label. Sturken and Rogers heard her single "Roll It Gal" on the radio and signed her to SRC Records in 2007. She made her first big splash with the album Shontelligence. The album released on November 18, 2008 and peaked at number 115 on the Billboard 200 thanks to the singles "T-Shirt" and "Stuck with Each Other". Shontelle then took to the road as a supporting act for the New Kids on the Block World Tour and Beyonce's I Am...Tour.
Shontelle has come back strong in 2010, first playing as the supporting act on the Kevin Rudolf's To The Sky Tour and then collaborating with artists like Bruno Mars, Tony Kanal, and Darkchild to gain more exposure. The result has been a Billboard 200 spot (number 81) in the first week for her second album, No Gravity. So far the album has two singles, "Impossible" and "Perfect Nightmare".
