Slash is perhaps better known to most of the world as the lead guitarist in the Guns N' Roses, but in recent years he has struck out on his own and been apart of the super group Velvet Revolver and even struck out on his own. Slash tickets for upcoming concert dates or a tour schedule in 2010 go quickly as the world famous guitarist has earned the respect and adoration of millions of hard rock and heavy metal music fans.

After working with Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, Dave Kushner, and Scott Weiland from 2002 to 2008, Slash decided to work by himself. The original plan was to record a work on the album after a third Velvet Revolver album but the early hiatus put his solo work in the forefront.

He began working on the project on September 30, 2008. Slash is a guitarist and by no means did he intend the solo album as an opportunity to showcase his own singing voice. Instead, he brought in outside help to pair with his guitar thrashing.
