Chivas Usa Tickets Founded on August 2, 2004, than as Major League Soccer's eleventh team, the Los Angeles-based Club Deportivo Chivas USA has been somewhat successful in only five Major League Soccer seasons. This is quite a task given that Chivas scored the fewest goals in the Western Conference last season, and failed to score more than two goals in any one game all season. Vasquez is now left to shoulder the responsibility of equaling ex-coach Preki's regular-season success – 40 victories over the last three seasons, with an overall record of 13-11-6 last in 2009 – en route to also leading Chivas USA to a successful postseason finish as well. Vasquez, who was last an assistant coach under Jurgen Klinsmann with Germany's Bayern Munich in 2008-09, made El Salvador attacking mid-fielder Osael Romero his first big addition when he acquired him on-loan from Vista Hermosa. Romero, only 23-years-old, joined Chivas Vista Hermosa on February 1st, 2010, and Vasquez believes he brings with him the "creativity, goals, and assists" the franchise was missing last season, especially given his 8 goals in 39 appearances for the El Salvador national team between 2007 and 2009.

 The old Preki-led C.D. Chivas USA team was a little more rough and tumble than the new version figures to be under Vasquez, but apart from defender Jonathan Bornstein (26 games, 1 assist) and mid-fielder Sacha Kljestan (25 games, 5 goals, 3 assists), both also having one game-winning goal each, the roster isn't exactly overflowing with proven MLS talent. In 2007, the Mexican-owned club finished first in the Western Conference, qualifying for the playoffs for the second year in a row. In their short history, Chivas USA has been runner-up for the 2007 MLS Supporters' Shield which also earned them the opportunity to play in the SuperLiga 2008 and 2008-09 CONCACAF Champion's League as a result. This is a team looking for a new identity and, with a new coach and strategic approach, one which could very well be much improved in 2010. Order your C.D.
