Background - Kansas City Wizards
The Kansas City Wizards were known as the Kansas City Wiz during the season of 1996, but they had to change the name due to some sort of copyright dispute. From 1995 until 2006, the owner of the soccer club was Lamar Hunt, who also owned the FC Dallas, Kansas City Chiefs and the Columbus Crew. But after his death, his son looks after the club. The name 'Wizards' is taken from the 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz' as the lead character is from Kansas only. Since their birth, the Kansas City Wizards usually play their home games in Arrowhead Stadium. This stadium is also used by the Kansas City Chiefs. The club is looking for sites to build a soccer-specific stadium. Blue and white are the colors of the team. The official supporters' group of the Kansas City Wizards is known by the name of their seating area, 'The Cauldron'. The section has support from another group named 'La Doce', who represents the Argentinean Club Atlético Boca Juniors.

The Kansas City Wizards provided fan with exciting soccer tickets in 2007, giving them a chance to catch MLS Cup Playoff game at the Community America Ballpark. The team played equally well at home and on the road, leading to an 11-10-9 record. The team made into the Quarterfinals of both the MLS Cup Playoffs and the Open Cup Playoffs.
The big news coming into the 2009 season is the resigning of Claudio Lopez. He managed to score six goals and had seven assists last season and will join the team without the Designated Player Tag. He may be far from his glory days with Valencia or Lazio, but he is still a valuable striker for the Wizards. Kansas City will need him to do more damage to the other team's net for the team to rise well above .500. The club was excellent defensively, ranking fifth in the league in goals against, but the team's own attack was third to last.
Defender Jimmy Conrad and midfielder/forward Davy Arnaud need to either be eclipsed as scorers or Jack Jewsbury and Josh Wolff will need to become bigger contributors. OnlineSeats will have Wizards tickets throughout Kansas City's schedule and will have affordable seats all over the seating chart.
