Vancouver Whitecaps Tickets The Vancouver Whitecaps FC began as an inquiry made by a group of owners that included Greg Kerfoot, Steve Luczo, Jeff Mallett, and Steve Nash. The group petitioned to become the 17th MLS franchise and was granted that request on March 18, 2009. It took two years of planning for a stadium and for a team organization before the Whitecaps would take the field at Empire Field. Empire Field is the temporary home though, after September 30, 2011 Vancouver will be playing at the BC Place Stadium. The 2011 Whitecaps team will play in the Western Conference and will try and display some bright spots as the season schedule moves forward. The Vancouver Whitecaps have struggled, as expected in this 2011 season. Currently they reside in last place in the Western Conference with 15 points in 21 games. The season is far from over and fans have continued to purchase Whitecaps tickets as Eric Hassli and Davide Chiumiento have given fans a reason to watch. Hassli leads the team with eight goals and Chiumiento leads the team with eight assists.
