e township of South Orange Village is located in the state of New Jersey, United States. South Orange Village falls in the Essex County. According to the 2000 Census, the population of the township stands at 16,964.

South Orange Village was formed in the year 1904 and in the year 1981, the statues of the village was changed to township. In fact, of all the 566 municipalities in the state of New Jersey, only four have a village form of government and South Orange Village is one of them. As per the United States Census Bureau, the township covers a total area of 2.9 square miles, of which nearly 100% is land.
