The city of Sterling Heights is located in the state of Michigan, United States. Sterling Heights falls in the county of Macomb. According to the 2000 United States Census, the population of the city stood at 124,471. However, as per the 2006 Census Bureau estimate, the population of the city has appreciated to 127,991, making it the most populous city in the state of Michigan.

Sterling Heights was incorporated as a city in the year of 1968. The city is known to be a beautiful place to live in and this was confirmed in the year 2006, when the 'Money Magazine' listed the city at the position of #19 on the list of '90 Best Small Cities to Live in the United States'. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city covers an area of 36.7 square miles, of which 99.86% is land.
