â€ËÅ"Take action', was established by Hopeless & Sub City Records, to create a better world, one voice and one action at a time. Take Action collaborates with several non-profit organizations, to make people aware and educate them about the positive effect that can be made by each individual in the community through activism and charitable work.
Louis Posen, the founder of Hopeless/Sub City Records states that, 'Suicide kills 13 people every day between the ages of 12 and 24. We hope that together we will be able to significantly lower that numbers by letting people know that there are resources available and people who care. I can only imagine what wonderful things those 13 people per day could bring to the world if they only had the chance.'
Hopeless & Sub City Records, keeping in mind its goal and aims, donates 10% of all Take Action! Tour ticket sales and 5% of the retail price for each Take Action! Volume 6 compilation CD sold to the Youth America Hotline. The benefiting charity was established by the Kristin Brooks Hope Center, to aid young people in crisis through peer-to-peer counseling and educating young people about mental health issues. The tour, which was started in 2001, has since collected over $350,000 for the Kristin Brooks Hope Center and the awareness built has helped increase government funding for suicide prevention from $0 to $16 million.
Hot Topic, the music lifestyle mall retailer, since the launch of Take Action in 1999, has been an eager supporter of the Take Action cause. Hot Topic and its support have helped save countless lives and educate millions of people, which has again made a difference to millions of lives. The successful 2007 Take Action Tour was also sponsored by Purevolume.com, Music Choice, Etnies, Alternative Press Magazine, Chord Magazine, Fanscape, Punknews.org, Absolutepunk.net, Stim.tv, Downloadpunk.com, and Rockthestreet.com.
