There is a little bit of this and a little bit of that going on today in the world of gossip. To start with we are going to be seeing a lot of Mariah Carey in the near future as she gets set to release her new album “Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel” at the end of August. Tonight she will premiere her new video “Obsessed” on “America’s Got Talent”. There is already hubbub about this video, first off it was leaked on the internet, but all copies have been removed. Secondly in the video Mariah is dressed up and looks eerily like Eminem and some are saying this is a response to his song “Bagpipes from Bagdad” where he talks about Mariah and their relationship from years back and why is she obsessed with him. Now Mariah and husband Nick Cannon both deny that the song/video has anything to do with Eminem but really could it be a coincidence? I guess we will just have to wait and see for ourselves once the video is out. You can also see Mariah on the “Today Show” in the Toyota concert series on August 28th. Also performing during the month will be Flo Rida and Natasha Bedingfield.
 

What is it about Beyonce and her song, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)” and video that the famous boy celebrities just can’t stop spoofing it? First it was Justin Timberlake on SNL, and now Joe Jonas shows his fully uni-tard clad figure along with a pair if stilettos, spoofing the song. The Jonas Brothers are getting the fans all hyped up for the release of their newest album, which drops June 16th, “Lines Vines and Trying Times”. The video is pretty cute, starting out with a very shy Joe hiding behind his brother but then look out, he goes for it. Beyonce just can’t help getting everyone going. Just as I predicted, there was definitely a bit of excitement when it came to Eminem and the “MTV Movie Awards” last night. Eminem actually walked out of the awards show after a run in with Bruno, the gay Australian fashion reporter (a.k.a. Sacha Baron Cohen) who after flying through the air landed right on Eminem with his backside wrapped around Eminem’s face. Well, you can imagine that did not go over very well and Eminem had a few choice words to say and stormed out. Somehow controversy just seems to surround those two. Before the incident Eminem did a very good medley of two songs from his new album “Relapse” which was quite entertaining. Besides Eminem, “Twilight” really rocked the house with the most awards. It won “Best Movie”, Kristen Stewart won “Best Female Performance”, Robert Pattinson won for “Breakthrough Performance for a Male” and “Best Kiss” also went to the pair Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.  In addition “Twilight” also won for “Best Fight” between Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet. There were even a few other winners for the night. My favorite MTV award nights are when Jim Carrey wins and give his always amusing acceptance speech and this year he won for “Best Comedic Performance” – of course. Heath Ledger won for “Best Villain” and funny girl Amy Poehler won for “Best WTF Moment” for Peeing in the Sink in her movie, “Baby Mama”. And no award show seems to be complete these days without Miss Miley Cyrus and she won “Best Song” for “The Climb” from “Hannah Montana: The Movie”. Funny man Ben Stiller won the “Generation Award” for the evening and he so deserves it, he is pretty great!! So as always MTV delivered a funny and entertaining and never quite know what to expect kind of evening.

You know I find it interesting how people just love to talk about their sexuality and then are surprised when others are upset by it. The latest person “opening up” about her sexuality is Lady Gaga. She has a new interview coming out in Rolling Stone Magazine and she talks about being bisexual. She says that, “she’s been highly disappointed by her boyfriends reaction to the fact that she’s sexually attracted to women. It makes them uncomfortable.” I am surprised that she is surprised by such a normal reaction. It is not the norm, so of course it makes people uncomfortable. She goes on to explain that it is just the physical feelings and attractions she has towards women. In the interview she does talk about a man that she was in love with several years ago who was actually the inspiration for all her songs on her first album, “The Fame”. Right now she is dating someone new but she also says she is fine to be alone as well. She talks about her music in the interview and how she is happy that she is not the typical “perfect little pop singer.” She wants to be different and stand out and hopefully her music can do the same. Speaking of sexuality, there is a lot of speculation about Adam Lambert and his preferences. For now he is not sharing. He is all about “embracing who you are and what makes you different is actually what is really cool.” That is the kind of role model he wants to be, do not be afraid to be who you are. When asked if he will address his sexuality in his upcoming interview in Rolling Stone Magazine he says, “maybe”.
 

Eminem is back and he just can’t stop rapping about people in his new music. First it was Kim Kardashian Jessica Simpson, and Sarah Palin in “We Made You”. In his latest song, “Bagpipes from Baghdad” he sings about Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey and Cannon is NOT happy about it. Eminem and Carey did date briefly about 8 years ago and Cannon writes on his blog that Eminem “is still obsessed with my wife, the same female who wouldn’t let him get to second base from 8 years ago.” Then it really starts to get ugly when Cannon calls Eminem “racially insensitive” as well as an “old school Caucasian con man”. You really have to wonder what Eminem was thinking when he not only wrote the song but made it so everyone could hear it. It does seem to be a bit much and makes one think that he did step over the line and no wonder Nick Cannon is fuming over the song. There are definitely fighting words in that song. You be the judge, but it is very difficult to listen to and made me cringe. One might say take it with a grain of salt, it is Eminem after all, but it is pretty descriptive and to be quite honest pretty insulting. Sorry Mariah that out of nowhere you have to deal with this but lucky for you your hubby is willing to fight for your honor.
 

Elton John is smiling this morning…his musical “Billy Elliot” was nominated for 15 Tony awards, one of which includes Best Musical. Also up for the top award are “Rock of Ages”, “Shrek the Musical” and “Next to Normal”. The Tony Awards will air on CBS on June 7^th at Radio City Music Hall. And in other breaking news…the controversial 4^th American Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi, will be back next season. Simon Cowell actually shared the news with Ellen DeGeneres and you can watch it today, Tuesday, on her show.

It’s time for another “comeback”, this time Eminem is hoping it is his turn. He has a new album coming out called “Relapse” and a new video that is not only funny but I have to admit pretty good and I am not the biggest Eminem fan around. The video, “We Made You” pretty much takes a shot at a lot of the celebs out there. Look alikes are used to spoof today’s hottest celebs like Kim Kardashian and her famous rear end,  Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Amy Winehouse, Jessica Simpson and even a Sarah Palin look alike manages to make it into the video, and trust me she will be wishing she hadn’t. Kim Kardashian on the other hand thought the video was funny and was flattered to be a part of it. Dr. Dre produced the new album and even has a cameo in the video as Captain Kirk from Star Trek. It is definitely out there but worth the watch.
