The Octomom, Nadya Suleman, finally has the reality show she has been hoping for. Filming will start September 1 and will most likely air first in the U.K and then here in the states. Eyeworks is the company producing the show and they have also produced, “The Biggest Loser” and “Breaking Bonaduce”. Suleman’s brood will make about $250,000 over 3 years and that roughly breaks down to about $250 a day per kid. Compared to other reality shows their taping schedule will be pretty light. For the first year they will only film for 36 days, the second year only 21 days and the third year only 14 days. Sounds pretty non evasive to me. That was Nadya’s plan all along; she just wants to film certain milestones in their lives. Oddly enough she is trying to stay away from the whole “Jon and Kate Plus 8” scenario. Hey, maybe she is smarter than we originally thought. Not to mention 15% of the children’s earnings will automatically go into a trust fund for each child that they cannot touch until they turn 18 as required by state law in California.

He reported the news for almost 20 years from 1962 – 1981 and he was the one people turned to for their breaking news and information. He was there to report the devastating news of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, as well as he was there for the ground breaking landing on the moon by the Americans in 1969. When he retired, Dan Rather took over his spot at the news desk. Cronkite was well known for his parting comment each night “And that’s the way it is.” He is survived by his 3 children and 4 grandsons. He was married to his wife Betsy for 64 years but she passed away in 2005. He was part of our history and he will be missed.
Secrets are hard to keep in tinsel town but this one was a doosie….Jennifer Hudson is pregnant. And the Chicago Sun – Times is reporting that she is not just newly pregnant but 7 months along. It seems that word got out as she was attending her own baby shower this weekend in the windy city. Hudson is from the South Side and the gathering was kept pretty quiet with just friends and family attending. Jennifer got her start of course on “American Idol” and then received an Academy Award for best supporting actress for “Dream Girls." It definitely seems like things are looking up again for Jennifer after the devastating losses of her mother, brother and nephew. She recently went back out on the road to tour with Robin Thicke, is engaged to be married, and now a baby on the way. Congratulations on the baby news and for keeping it a secret for so long. And in other baby news, Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou are new parents to a baby boy. Simmons has two daughters from her previous marriage to Russell Simmons. Two of the girlyist girls I have ever seen, Ming Lee 9 and Aoki Lee 6 ½, so adding a boy into the mix should be interesting. Simmons is the CEO of her company The Baby Phat and she made sure to keep all her fans in the loop by Twittering out the news to them several times throughout the labor and delivery process, and she promises more to come. And last but not least in weekend baby news…Brandon Flowers from the band The Killers and his wife are expecting baby number 2.
more...I have not talked about her for weeks but this cannot go without mention. It is absurd and shocking and I will try to just tell you the story without my soap box. Nadya Suleman is contemplating a new pet…possibly a small PIG!!! Really…does she really need one more mouth do feed or excuse me…but more poop to clean up??? She says that if she did indeed decide on a pig is would live outside and wear a diaper. A pig???? Another possibility is a teacup Pomeranian or some other little dog. Like taking care of 8 newborns plus 6 other children is not enough…but the kids have been asking for a pet for awhile she says. Have you heard the saying…Just Say NO!!!! Nadya has been busy looking for someone to give her a reality show as well as trying to trademark the name, Octo – mom. Nuff said!
Lance Armstrong is truly the superhero of cycling. Lance was in a pile up in Spain during a race on Monday and broke his collarbone in several pieces. He is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday where he will have a metal plate inserted to stabilize the bone. He plans to take about 72 hours off to rest and then back to his workouts. Although obviously it will take some time to get back up to speed, Armstrong is planning on participating in the Giro d’Italia race May 9 – May 31. That is the second most important race next to the Tour de France which he is also planning on participating in this July. Armstrong’s longtime manager feels the same and that all this is doable. HE feels Lance is in great shape and if anyone can pull it off and make it happen, it is Lance Armstrong. Right now everyone is optimistic and just hoping the surgery goes well and Lance makes a speedy recovery.

Just minutes before the concert was to start the guys came out to deliver the news that lead singer, James Hetfield, had just been taken to the hospital. Luckily it was just a bug that he caught and he ended up dehydrated, but he is fine and returned to the U.S with the rest of the band. Can you even imagine how bummed out those fans were, but what can you do?
It was a big week in New York for U2 ,who was there to promote their new album, “No Line on the Horizon”. They performed and did an interview on “Good Morning America” where they were performing live from Fordham University. The students were in frenzy and all morning classes were canceled. I guess with the right motivation you can get 4000 students up and out of bed in the early morning hours. The band was honored this week with a street temporarily named after them by Mayor Bloomberg. 53rd street in Manhattan will be called U2 Way for a week. The band then headed over to “The Late Show with David Letterman”, where they spent an entire week. The group performed songs from their new album, did an interview and even helped Dave with his Top 10 List. IT was a load of fun to watch them all week. The group kicks off their world tour in Barcelona on June 30 and will head back in the U.S. for a concert in Chicago at Soldiers Field in September.
