The Band Perry is the country group that learned to sing and play under the same roof. Kimberley Perry is the lead singer. Neil Perry plays mandolin, drums, accordion, and sings back up vocals. Reid Perry plays bass guitar and sings back up as well. Together, these three have managed to find success as a family band, selling The Band Perry tickets and releasing an eponymous debut album in 2010.
Music seemed to have been apart of this family's life since they grew up in Alabama and later moved to Greeneville, Tennessee. Kimberley has been singing lead since she was a teenager. Her brothers initially helped out as roadies, but eventually began performing with her, but only after they formed their own group, opened for their big sister, and landed on the New Faces of Country tour. The Band Perry eventually formed once these siblings put any rivalry to rest and took the stage together.
Fortunately, those gigs became much more than just a cute family hobby. Bob Doyle, Garth Brooks' manager, discovered them in 2008 and sent a copy of their recordings to the head of a new label, Republic Nashville. The Band Perry signed with the record label in August 2009 and released their first work under the label in the middle of 2010.
