The Canadian Tenors did not form in the organic way many of today's most popular acts did. They did not meet in high school in glee club, they did not have mutual friends bringing them together, and they were not between gigs and working on a side project to pass the time. Still, Canadian Tenors tickets are no less impressive for the live shows. The tour schedule is still full of sold out concert dates and the group is still highly acclaimed.
This quartet was the brainchild of Jill Ann Siemens. She toured herself, holding auditions throughout the Canada in search for not just the best voices, but for the best collaboration of voices for this tenor group. Her plan was finally realized in 2007 when Remigio Pereira, Victor Micallef, Fraser Walters, and Jamie McKnight signed on to be the Canadian Tenors, a quartet of vocalists performing pop songs and classical ballads.
The Canadian Tenors out a self-titled debut album the next year. Though the album had decent showings on the main music charts in the U.S. and Canada, the group charted particularly well in the U.S. Classical and U.S. Christian charts. The strong response led to performance dates at the Tel Aviv Opera House and the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Sin City.
