The series was produced from 1976 through 1984 and is still broadcasted on the Comedy Network in Canada and TV Land in the US. Some of the well known stars of The Second City are John Candy, Andrea Martin, Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, Joe Flaherty, Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis, and Martin Short. They are presently enjoying the success of home video and DVD with the release of the first of five boxed sets. In the year 2004, SCTV climbed to the top of the home video sales charts and has also got dozens of reviews from The New York Times to USA Today.
