The characters also play a vital part in the success of the whole show as they are the ones who create the emotional attachment with the audience. The plot is a standard variation on the old fashioned coming-out story, where the mom is re marrying while her son has a boyfriend & wants to go ahead with the relationship. The shows novelty is one of the most influencing aspects of the whole episode. The intersection of past and present engenders healing and leads to a sentimental happy ending for all, even if the transformation of years-long animosity seems to come out of nowhere. The characters endlessly analyze and reflect on their relationships, leaving the show feeling expository rather than dramatic.
This musical tries to bring about the different variations in the family ties & how these ties bring about the difficulties as well as the greatness in these ties. 'Convenience' is a lightweight confection. It is occasionally amusing and touching, but with little substance. Accepted on that level, it can provide an enjoyable entertainment.
