Owned by Clear Channel Communications, KWNR (95.5 FM) has been a country station in the Las Vegas area since 1990 and is currently the top rated radio station in the Las Vegas market.The station is well known for it's annual Country music festival-The Doubledown Throwdown. The festival is held at the Orleans Arena which is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena owned and operated by Coast Casinos a wholly owned subsidiary of Boyd Gaming. The festival is considered Southwest's premier country music festival.
The event, celebrated throughout the day features exhibits, autograph sessions, and entertainment. In the 3rd Annual Double Down Throwdown show a total of nine artists participated, six of which performed outdoors starting in the afternoon, and the remaining three performed indoors in the evening The artists who performed indoors included Neal McCoy, George Canyon, Little Big Town, Ryan Shupe & the Rubberband, and Luke Stricklin.

The pre-show music was Johnny Cash, and later the local DJ came out and announced MCA Recording artist Josh Turner. Josh came out and sang "Folsom Prison Blues". Josh played music from his new album, Long Black Train. The crowd was excited to hear the first song he played from his then upcoming release "Jacksonville." The audience also enjoyed the other songs he sang- " In My Dreams", "Good Woman Bad", "Backwoods Boy", "Ring of Fire". He concluded his performance with his current single, "Long Black Train," which had everyone singing along.
KWNR now presents the 4th Annual Double Down Throwdown Festival at Orleans Arena. The 4th Annual Double Down Throwdown features Phil Vassar, SHeDaisy, Emerson Drive, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Megan Mullins. Phil Vassar is an American country music artist, most notable for his songwriting and use of a piano as his most prominent backing instrument. SHeDAISY (also known as "Sisters K") is an American country music group made up of three sisters: Kassidy, Kelsi and Kristyn Osborn. They began playing at an early age, and are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Emerson Drive is a popular Canada based music band. They have received 2002 Billboard music award for the New Country Artist of the Year. Yet another popular band is the alternative country band, cross Canadian Ragweed. Megan Mullins is a talented instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, actor, model, athlete, and dancer.
