Born in Syosset, New York, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Purchase College Doug Varove is the Artistic Director of Doug Varone and Dancers. The group was established in 1986 as an opportunity to explore and process Dougs's particular choreographic vision. His dances have been commissioned by long list of leading presenters which include The American Dance Festival, the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing ARts and The Joyce Theater. Doug Varone is the recipient of numerous honors that include a Guggenheim Fellowship, numerous fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, and New York Dance and Performance Award (Bessie) for Sustained Achievement in Choreography. His works have been included in repertory of many renowned dance companies including the Limón Company, Pennsylvania Ballet, Batsheva Dance Company (Israel), Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and Colorado Ballet.
DougVarone is a contemporary dance choreographer for the concert stage, and also for opera, Broadway, regional theater, film, and television. But it was with Doug Varone and Dancers which he founded, Verone was showered with fame and success. Varone is also active in theater, television, and film. His theater credits include Broadway's Triumph of Love and productions at Baltimore's Center Stage, Yale Repertory Theater, Walnut Street Theater, Princeton's McCarter Theater, Music Theater Group, the Vineyard Theater and Via Theater. Choreography for television and fashion include the dance and underwater sequences of the A&E Network production, The Planets which was nominated for an International Emmy and Grammy Award for Long Form Video and designer Geoffrey Beene's Couture Fashion Ballets in NYC.

Lately he is busy with his projects that include directing and choreographing Ricky Ian Gordon's Orpheus and Euridice for Lincoln Center and The Invisible Man with Aquila Theater Company. In May 2006 he directed and choreographed the US premiere of Laurent Petitgirard's Joseph Merrick: The Elephant Man for Minnesota Opera. Doug Varone and Dancers is a group of eight performers. John Beasant III, who is a native of Denver, Colorado, holds the degree in MFA from the University of Utah. Some company experiences are as follows: ARENA Dances by Mathew Janczewski, Keith Johnson and Dancers, Shapiro and Smith Dance, the Metropolitan Opera, the Colorado Opera, and the Music Theater of Wichita.
Another member is Daniel Charon hails from Moorhead, MN and is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts. He is the group member since 1999. Previously he danced with the Limón Dance Company for three years.
Ryan Corriston started dancing with the Kaleidoscope Dance Company at the tender age of 8, and was a company member for 8 years. He began dancing again in college and received a B.A. in Dance from the University of Washington, where he studied under Hannah Wiley.
Natalie Desch, a native of New Castle, PA, began her dance training under the guidance of Deborah Parou. After receiving her BFA from the Juilliard School, she joined the Limon Dance Company where she performed from 1996-2001.
Adriane Fang who is a graduate with honors with a double major in Dance and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. She has an experience of working with several choreographers including Wally Cardona and Penny Vercelline before joining Doug Varone and Dancers in 1996.
Stephanie Liapis graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1998 with a BFA in Dance. Since graduation she has had the pleasure of working with several companies, including Jamie Bishton/Dance, interscholastic, Netta Yerushalmy's Dancing People and Nancy Bannon.
Belinda Mcguire performed for eight years with the Canadian Children's Dance Theater in Toronto, where she worked with several prominent Canadian artists such as Peggy Baker, David Earle and Carol Anderson. In May, 2006 she received her BFA from The Juilliard School and joined Doug Varone and Dancers.
Eddie Taketa holds a BFA in Dance Theater from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is the recipient of a 1998 New York Dance and Performance Award (Bessie) for Sustained Achievement in Dancing. Dancing professionally since 1982, Taketa has performed with such companies as the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Murray Louis Dance Company, and Nikolais Dance Theater.
