Jekyll arrives with the party''s ending. Emma and Jekyll meet and catch up("Take Me as I Am"). Danvers confesses to Emma that he likes Jekyll but finds his behavior intolerable("Letting Go").
Jekyll and Utterson are at the Red Rat pub to celebrate Jekyll's bachelor party. A beautiful prostitute, Lucy Harris, sings and dances ( "Good 'n' evil ). Later, Utterson is taken away by a different prostitute while Jekyll shares a drink with Lucy("Here's to the Night"). Before they can even kiss, Utterson is back. Jekyll leaves but gives his visiting card to Lucy first.
As Utterson and Jekyll returns to the posh and uppity side of London, Utterson realizes his friend is happy. On questioning, Jekyll answers he has found his subject. Utterson suggests a good night's sleep. Jekyll proceeds to the lab("This is the Moment"), mixes the ingredients for formula HJ7 and drinks it. The transformation is complete as Jekyll is now a beast("Transformation"). Jekyll leaves home and goes roaming in town. Also, he meets Lucy where he introduces himself as Edward Hyde ("Alive").
A week has passed and no one knows about Jekyll's whereabouts. When Poole, Jekyll's butler is questioned by Emma and Utterson, he answers Jekyll has been locked in the lab all the while when Jekyll emerges asking Poole to go fetch some more chemicals. Utterson asks Jekyll what he has been doing("His Work and Nothing More"). Lucy arrives with a nasty wound on his neck. Lucy informs Jekyll who is treating the bruise that a man named Hyde did it. Jekyll is stunned but stays calm. In love with Jekyll, Lucy kisses him"Sympathy, Tenderness"). Distraught by his own deeds, Jekyll leaves while Lucy professes her love for him("Someone Like You").
The Bishop of Basingstoke is seen walking the street with a prostitute. After the girl leaves, Hyde beats the Bishop to death before setting fire to the body("Alive – Reprise").
Act II opens with the Bishop's funeral. Glossop and Lord Savage leave the church making snide remarks about the bishop when suddenly Hyde appears and stabs Glossop. Savage escapes. In another occasion, Savage, Sir Proops, and Lady Beaconsfield commenting on their hatred for the poor,lower classes. Hyde shows up, stabs Proops and snaps Lady Beaconsfield's neck. Sabage manages another escape. The city reacts to the third and fourth murders. Danvers meets Lord Savage who is leaving as he fears his own safety. Danvers leaves when suddenly, Hyde shows up and breaks Savage's neck and throws him onto the train tracks ("Murder, Murder"). Hyde savagely kills Lucy("Sympathy, Tenderness"). A sudden transformation occurs and Jekyll realizes what he has done. Covered in blood, Jekyll returns to his laboratory to faces Hyde in a final battle. Jekyll apparently has won. Weeks later, he and Emma stand before the altar at their wedding. Moments before Jekyll says "I do," Hyde emerges and kills Stride while taking Emma hostage. On hearing Emma's voice, Jekyll is able to take control. Begging Utterson to kill him finally, Utterson shoots him. The show ends with Emma crying over Jekyll's dead body while the spirit of his dead father calls upon him.
