She makes a plan with Bosola for delivering jewelery to Antonio at his hiding place in Ancona. She was unaware of fact that Bosola was keeping a watch on her as Ferdinand's spy. She was suppose to join Antonio later. Her other brother Cardinal hears the plan and send soldiers to with Bosola capture them. Antonio and his eldest son are able to escape but the Duchess and her two younger children are executed in Malfi. Duchess of Malfi does not end here. It has very tragic but very interesting ending going through various conspiracies, murders and twists.
