Elf the Musical is the musical stage adaptation of the 2003 Will Ferrell movie. Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin wrote the score and Casey Nicholaw is set to direct and choreograph. Elf the Musical tickets will be available for a limited engagement at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre from November 2 until January 2, 2011. The musical's official opening is on November 10, 2010.
Though fall is fast approaching, Elf has yet to announce any casting decisions. The musical needs to cast Buddy, the human-sized elf who has come down to New York in search of his real father; Walter, Buddy's cantankerous father; Jovie, Buddy's love interest and co-worker at the toy store in the mall; and many more smaller, but hilarious roles.
