The Enron scandal comes to the stage in ENRON, a play by British playwright Lucy Prebble. Prebble previously gain notoriety as the author of the Sugar Syndrome and the BBC drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Enron tickets have sold for the poignantly written script performed on the West End at the Royal Court Theatre and on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre.
The Broadway production began on April 8, 2010 in previews and officially debuted on April 27. Rupert Goold directs, Anthony Ward has designed the coporate scenery and costumes, and plenty of Broadway veterans have come out to give Enron a more than adequate go on the stage.
Gregory Itzin stars as Kenneth Lay, Norbert Leo Butz stars as Jeffrey Skilling, and Marin Mazzie stars a Claudia Roe. The play is brilliantly performed and debuts in a time in which corporate culture is publicly regarded in a less-than-stellar light.
