Festen is a play directed by Rufus Norris. Rufus is the proud recipient of the Critics Circle and Evening Standard awards for his previous directorial venture. The play is based on Thomas Vintenberg's blockbuster Danish film of the same title. It was released in the US under the name of "The Celebration." It was first adapted for the stage by well known theater personality David Eldridge.
