Los Big Names is a one person show by Marga Gomez. It is a humorous and farce enactment of the events in her family, her Latino childhood during the 60's and her so called "big break" in the 1990 sci-fi movie "Sphere."

Marga Gomez struggled to gain a foothold in Hollywood like any newcomer but being a Latino played to her advantage as she got her first break during the Latin Explosion of the 90's. She was very open about her sexuality and quickly became an inspiration for the gay community and gained fame as a gay comedian. She gleefully remembers "I was the first in my family to get a speaking role in a movie. That meant more to us than graduating from high school." Unfortunately the movie was Barry Levinson's sci-fi adventure Sphere which Marga explains "had some problems with the end- and with the middle." The movie bombed but her career took off and she has never looked back.
Her solo performance has been directed by David Schweizer. It is often difficult for solo performers to let someone else do the direction, but by having done so, Gomez has shown great trust and confidence in Schweizer.
